The Camilleri group is a family owned business, governed nowadays by a board of Directors, which draws its origin from 1843, when it opened a confectionery shop in the heart of the capital city Valletta. For many years, the Camilleri group was associated exclusively in Malta with confectionery business, as wholesaler and retailer. However, over the years the business diversified to include also outside catering, fashion and apparel retailing.

The diversification strategy of the Group has resulted in significant revenue growth, especially after the recent acquisition of CYKA Ltd (Jules, Morgan, Promod) and JP Caruana confectionary (distributor of Haribo, Tangerine, Tilleys, Walkers of London, Baronie, Duc d'O, Lees of Scotland).

Fashion

The Camilleri Group of Companies represents several popular fashion brands: The ever popular and iconic mother & baby franchise Mothercare. The much loved family and home department store Matalan. The French fashion brand Morgan is well known for offering a chic and constantly renewed wardrobe for women in search of quality. Promod is a women's French Fashion Brand, audacious mixing and matching, a bohemian traveller vibe, impertinent colour shades, faraway patterns, chic detailing and gentle fashion twists. Jules, caters for men looking for relaxed, comfortable or elegance outfits whilst keeping up with the latest trends and Caroll, a fashion brand by women for women.

Confectionery

C. Camilleri & Sons Ltd, less formally known as Camilleri tal-Ħelu was first established in 1843 and is to date the oldest confectionery trader on the Maltese islands. The company's operation comprises both wholesale and retail trading and houses a number of well-known brands such as Haribo, Ritter Sport, La Suissa, Giovanni Parenti, Treets, Gangemi, Duc Do, Villa Guelfa, Dolgam and Manfredi, amongst others. Apart from directly importing this portfolio of brands, our customers will also find all other leading trademarks such as Lindt, Cadbury, Ferrero Rocher, Perugina, Pernigotti and so on.

Our flagship store is still situated in Merchants Street Valletta, where it had been first established over 178 years ago. It offers the largest assortment of pick n' mix variety with over 240 different types of sweets, gummies and chocolates by weight. One can also find a vast selection of wines, spirits, chocolates, biscuits, artisan ice-cream, sweet & savoury local products, special-diet confectionery, cakes, homemade bakes as well as a range of Tal-Ħelu (in-house produced) traditional treats.

Camilleri Catering has a reputation for coordinating dream weddings and other events such as BBQ's, parties, home events & corporate events. Anthony Camilleri

Anthony Camilleri is the eldest of the fourth-generation members of the Camilleri Group and has been actively involved in the family business for over 50 years. He was the driving force behind the Group's diversification from its original confectionery and catering operations into the retail fashion sector, shaping its growth into the multi-faceted organization it is today.

With over 35 years of experience in the fashion industry, Anthony has played a key role in the expansion and strategic development of the Group's brands, stores, and business operations. Beyond the Group, he serves as President of the Valletta Merchants Street Business Community and is a founding Governor of the Valletta Alive Foundation, demonstrating his commitment to the local business community and cultural initiatives.

Anthony's leadership, vision, and decades of experience continue to guide the Group's long-term strategy and ongoing success.

Joseph Camilleri

Joseph Camilleri is a fourth-generation member of the Camilleri Group and has been actively involved in the family business since 1980. He began his career as a Retail Outlet Manager at the Group's sweets shop in Valletta, where he gained hands-on experience in customer service and store operations.

Over the years, Joseph held several managerial roles, including Factory Manager and BHS Shop Manager in Sliema, developing extensive expertise across retail, operations, and brand management. He later served as Brand Director for Camilleri Trading Ltd for over two decades, overseeing the growth, positioning, and strategic direction of the company's brands.

Joseph's deep understanding of the business, combined with his operational and brand leadership experience, continues to contribute significantly to the Group's ongoing success.

André Camilleri

André Camilleri is the youngest brother of the fourth generation of the Camilleri Group and has been actively involved in the management of the organization for over 35 years.

He began his career working in the family's sweets shop in Valletta and later contributed to the Group's outside catering operations. André also played a key role in the opening of the first BHS outlet in Valletta on Merchants Street.

In recent years, he has been responsible for overseeing the Group's logistics division, managing warehousing, distribution, and supply chain operations across the organization.

George Debono

| Group Chief Executive Officer

George Debono is the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Camilleri Group, having joined the organisation in January 2026. He brings over 30 years of experience in the banking industry, having held senior and C-suite positions across Retail, Corporate Banking, Business Development, and Treasury.

During his career with HSBC, George was entrusted with establishing Malta's first HSBC Premier Centre in 2010 and went on to lead several Corporate Banking teams, including International, Real Estate, and Hotels.

In July 2019, he joined BNF Bank plc as Chief Commercial Officer, where he played a key role in the Bank's significant growth in balance sheet and profitability. During this time, he also oversaw major milestones including the establishment of a branch in London, the issuance of the Bank's first bond, and the achievement of “Bank of the Year” in Malta for three consecutive years.

George holds a Master's Degree with Distinction in International Banking and Finance from the University of Salford in Manchester.

Ann Micallef

| Group General Manager Retail

Ann Micallef is the Group General Manager – Retail at Camilleri Holdings Ltd. She began her career with the company in 2003 as a Sales Assistant before moving into an administrative role while pursuing her studies at the University of Malta.

In 2006, Ann joined PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Junior Associate in Audit and Business Assurance, where she gained four years of professional experience.

She rejoined the Group in 2010 as Operations Manager for one of the franchise brands. By 2012, she was responsible for overseeing three fashion brands and ten local retail outlets. After serving as Operations Manager for the Group's fashion sector for three years, Ann was promoted to General Manager in 2015, where she assumed responsibility for the Group's Retail Operations and Marketing functions.

Ann holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy (Honours) from the University of Malta.

Christian Camilleri

| Group General Manager Operations

Christian Camilleri is the Group General Manager – Operations at Camilleri Holdings Ltd. He brings over 20 years of experience within the company, having held a number of managerial roles across different areas of the business.

Prior to his current role, Christian served as General Manager of the Group's Wholesale Division, where he was responsible for overseeing the division's operations, including business planning and budgeting, addressing customer concerns, and driving team performance to ensure efficient service and strong operational results.

In his current position, Christian focuses on supporting the Group's operational strategy and ensuring the effective coordination of activities across the organization.

Christian holds a Diploma in Business Management from Leicester University.

Alexia Spiteri

| Group General Manager Procurement

Alexia Spiteri is the Group General Manager – Procurement at Camilleri Holdings Ltd., where she oversees the organization's purchasing activities across multiple divisions, supporting the company's overall strategic objectives.

Her career began within Camilleri Catering, where she was responsible for managing the Group's Catering Division for fourteen years. She later held the position of Marketing Executive for six years, working closely with the Marketing Manager to develop and oversee marketing plans and campaigns across the Group's various brands.

Over the past two years, prior to assuming her current role, Alexia formed part of the Group's Buying Department for fashion and apparel, further broadening her experience across the organization's operations.

Alexia holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management from the University of Malta and a Master of Science in Food Management from the University of Surrey.

Pierre Griscti

| Group Chief Financial Officer

Pierre Griscti joined the Camilleri Group in 1989, during the early years of the Group's expansion into the fashion business, starting his career as a Finance Executive. Over the years, he has played a pivotal role in the financial growth and strategic development of the Group, contributing to its position as a leading player across the catering, confectionery, and fashion sectors.

Pierre now serves as Group Chief Financial Officer, where he oversees the Group's financial strategy, reporting, and governance. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and sits on the Camilleri Group Board of Directors, as well as various committees within the Group companies.

His extensive financial expertise and deep knowledge of the Group's operations continue to support its sustained growth and long-term strategic goals.
